The Potteries Outdoor Group is the local group of the Youth Hostels Association for North Staffordshire and the surrounding areas. We have a varied programme of both outdoor and indoor social events, including walks, talks, meals, theatre and cinema trips, visits to places of interest and much more.
We meet on Tuesday evenings, either at our regular club room in Newcastle-under-Lyme or our chosen "outdoor" venue, and most months see at least two weekend events, which might be local or hostel-based day walks, or a visit to a museum or gallery or some other activity.

NEWS FLASH! - POG walk off with the Cadbury Cup!
On Sunday 28 September POG took part in the 2008 Cadbury Cup in the Long Mynd
area, and emerged clear winners, our two teams taking the top two spots.
As winners, POG now have the task of organising the 2009 competition.
